Robert M. Wolcott who is President and CEO today originated The Roberts Agency Inc. in 1963. At age 25, Bob started an agency consisting of himself and a part time secretary. The company more than broke even the first year and has been successful ever since.

The company is unique in that it is still going strong for over forty years and primarily works in the construction insurance/surety-bonding field. They have generated most of their sales by being active with construction organizations. By going to their meetings and serving on committees and boards they are able to do a lot of networking. They are also one of the largest writers of condominium and association master policies.

The agency is now a "family operation". In addition to Bob, his son and daughters Paul, Jennifer and Laura are also active in the company. Each family member has shown a strong commitment to the firm. The family together with a dedicated staff of twenty knowledgeable people has made The Roberts Agency a success.

The Roberts Agency is large enough to provide clients access to many excellent companies and small enough to provide individual service.

As one of the first target marketing insurance agencies in Connecticut, the Roberts Agency has evolved customer-oriented centers in areas such as condominiums, homebuilders, trade contractors and heavy construction. This allows us to develop greater expertise and to establish relationships with the appropriate insurance companies in those fields so that we can better meet our customers' needs with respect to coverage, price and service.

During the early 1990's, the agency enhanced its construction and surety bond operations with the addition of an experience construction team that has over 120 years combined construction experience.
